Thousands Visit Madhya Pradesh Temples as Navratri Begins
Shardiya Navratri, a nine-day festival, began in Madhya Pradesh on October 11.
Many people went to temples to pray and see the ceremonies.
Temples in places such as Ujjain, Indore, Maihar and Bhopal were among those visited.
More than 75,000 people went to Maa Baglamukhi Temple in Nalkheda during the morning.
A fair also began at Maa Sharda Dham in Maihar.
Some temples held special prayers and aarti, and one temple decorated its walls with silver.
The festival is due to continue until October 19.

Maa Badi Bijasan Mata Temple in Sendhwa decorated its sanctum walls with around 90 kilograms of silver.
