Lebanon-Israel Truce Talks Expand Amid Disarmament Deadline
Officials from Lebanon and Israel met to talk about how to help people who had to leave their homes during the war go back.
They also discussed how to make the area safer and more stable.
There is a deadline at the end of the year for Hezbollah to give up their weapons, and the Lebanese army needs to be stronger to help with this.
They also talked about ways to work together on economic projects to make life better for people on both sides of the border.
The next meeting is planned for January 7.
The truce committee met to discuss returning displaced people and advancing economic reconstruction in south Lebanon.
Civilian participants addressed steps to support safe returns and limit weaponry south of the Litani River.
The Lebanese and Israeli participants agreed on the importance of political and economic progress for long-term stability.
A strengthened Lebanese army is seen as critical to sustaining stability and disarming Hezbollah.
