VB-G RAM G Bill replaces MGNREGA

VB-G RAM G Bill replaces MGNREGA

The Indian government has passed a new law called the VB-G RAM G Bill, which replaces the old MGNREGA scheme.

This new law promises 125 days of work for rural families every year, which is more than the 100 days promised before.

The West Bengal government is upset because the new law does not have Mahatma Gandhi's name in it, and they have renamed their own job scheme to 'Mahatma Shree' to show their protest.

The Congress party and other opposition groups are also very angry and plan to protest because they think the new law will hurt poor rural workers.

The government says the new law is better and will help rural development more effectively.
