Villagers Build Makeshift Bridges After Government Action Stalls

People in Sana Buruda have built temporary bridges by themselves.

They used branches, stones, electric poles and wooden logs.

The bridges help children get to school and residents reach government offices.

A small stream becomes difficult to cross during heavy rain.

Rain also damaged part of the main village road.

Villagers say they had asked for a permanent bridge for years.

The local block officer says government officials inspected the area.

He also said a survey was conducted and that he would seek approval for a permanent project.

For now, the villagers are relying on their handmade bridges.
