NTA Plans DigiLocker Access for NEET Scorecards
The National Testing Agency (NTA) is creating a new system using DigiLocker that will let people get their old NEET scorecards.
This is good news for students who need their old scores for school, jobs, or checks.
Right now, the NTA only keeps score records for 90 days, so a student who took NEET in 2020 couldn't get her scorecard because it was already thrown away.
The student asked for help, but the officials said they couldn't give her the scorecard because it wasn't kept anymore.
However, the new DigiLocker system will make it easier for students to get their old scorecards in the future.
NTA is developing a DigiLocker-based system to retrieve previous years' NEET scorecards.
The initiative aims to provide a long-term solution for candidates needing old scorecards.
The system is in its final stages of development and expected to be completed soon.
NTA informed the CIC that NEET-UG 2020 scorecards were destroyed after 90 days as per record retention policy.
The CIC upheld NTA's response, stating that CPIOs are not obligated to create or reconstruct information that no longer exists.
