Sunil Sharma Rejects Omar Abdullah’s Jammu and Kashmir Statehood Resolution

Sunil Sharma is a Bharatiya Janata Party leader in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly.

He criticized a resolution introduced by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah about restoring statehood.

Sharma said the resolution breaks the Constitution, although the report does not provide Abdullah’s response.

He said statehood is already promised by the Government of India.

Sharma accused the National Conference of mixing that issue with demands linked to Article 370 and the period before 1953.

He also rejected ideas about having a separate flag or Constitution in Jammu and Kashmir.

Sharma said Amit Shah was unhappy about these discussions.

He separately attacked Congress for protesting against the Election Commission.
