Ammucare Turns Personal Tragedy Into Global Volunteer Charity

Ammucare Turns Personal Tragedy Into Global Volunteer Charity

Mohanji started Ammucare after his young daughter, Ammu, died in a road accident.

He wanted to turn his sadness into helping others.

The charity began by giving food and blankets to people who needed them.

Volunteers and donors helped it grow without a wealthy sponsor.

Today, Ammucare works in many parts of India and ACT Foundation works in more than 25 countries.

It helps people with food, healthcare, education and disaster support.

It also gives food and care to animals, birds and fish.

The group hopes to build more permanent centres and help people become more self-reliant.
