India Approves ITI Revamp, New IIT Expansion with Major Funding
India is investing heavily in education!
The government approved two big plans.
One is to improve technical schools (ITIs) across the country, which will help students learn skills for jobs in fields like cars and renewable energy.
The government will work with the states and industry to pay for this, training 20 lakh youth.
The second plan is to expand five new engineering schools (IITs), building new classrooms and labs.
This will allow more students to study engineering, with the government investing money to make it happen.
The Union Cabinet approved a ₹60,000-crore scheme to upgrade ITIs.
The scheme aims to skill 20 lakh youth over five years in high-growth sectors.
The Cabinet also cleared a ₹11,828.79-crore expansion plan for five IITs.
The IIT expansion will increase the student intake by 6,576 seats.
The initiatives aim to boost India's education infrastructure and development goals.
