Sikh Parade Disrupted in New Zealand

Sikh Parade Disrupted in New Zealand

A peaceful religious parade called Nagar Kirtan, organized by the Sikh community in New Zealand, was disrupted by a group linked to the Destiny Church.

The disruptors carried a banner saying 'This is New Zealand not India' and chanted 'Jesus' and 'One true God'.

They also mentioned seeing Khalistan flags among the parade participants.

The Sikh community responded calmly, and a leader from India, Sukhbir Singh Badal, condemned the incident and asked the Indian government to ensure the safety of the Indian diaspora in New Zealand.

The leader of the disruptors, Brian Tamaki, has been critical of immigration and foreign influences in New Zealand.

The police intervened and removed the disruptors, allowing the procession to continue.
