Tirupati Temple to Implement AI to Reduce Pilgrim Wait Times
The head of a large temple organization, named B R Naidu, wants to use smart computer programs called AI to make visiting the temple much quicker.
He hopes to use this technology to cut down the time people have to wait in line to see the main shrine to just about two hours.
They are also making the entrance at the bottom of the hill faster with new scanners.
A big new building might be built to hold lots of people, with a place to eat.
They are also working on stopping fake websites that trick people trying to book visits.
To keep the temple special, they are taking steps like making sure only people who believe in the temple's religion work there and removing illegal shops.
They have also gotten back some land that belonged to the temple.
The free food service is making more food, and they are making lots of temple sweets called 'laddus' every day.
They plan to build many new smaller temples in villages and even in other countries.
TTD Chairman B R Naidu announced plans to use Artificial Intelligence (AI) to reduce pilgrim darshan wait times to approximately two hours.
Initiatives include upgrading the Alipiri toll gate, building a new complex for 25,000 devotees, and establishing a cybersecurity lab to combat online fraud.
The TTD is implementing strict measures to protect the temple's sanctity, including removing non-Hindu employees and reclaiming 25 acres of sacred land.
Significant improvements have been made to the Annaprasadam (free food) program, with daily distribution capacity exceeding 1,00,000, and laddu production reaching a record 4 to 4.5 lakh daily.
As part of social outreach, 5,000 new temples will be built in Dalit, Harijan, and fishermen colonies, with a Rs. 2,000 crore corpus for international temple expansion.
