Arrangements complete for Varuna Yagam at Nagarjuna Sagar on Monday

The state government is getting ready to hold a very special prayer ceremony called the Varuna Yagam.

This kind of ceremony is an old Vedic ritual where people pray by a sacred fire.

The government is doing this prayer for the happiness and welfare of all the people in the state.

The ceremony will take place next to the Krishna River, at a place called Nagarjuna Sagar.

Important officials checked all the arrangements, like the prayer hall and fire pits, before the big day.

About 108 priests, called ritwiks, will take part in the ceremony.

The prayers will start very early in the morning at 4 am and finish at 3:20 pm in the afternoon.

Since the Chief Minister and other leaders are coming, the police are making sure everything is very safe.

Big screens have been put up so people can watch the ceremony from far away.

The event is being organized under the auspices of the Yadadri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple.
