Russia Launches Intervision Song Contest Amid Eurovision Ban
Russia, banned from Eurovision, is hosting its own song contest called Intervision.
This event features singers from 23 countries including China and India.
The contest revives a Soviet-era tradition and will award a large cash prize.
Unlike Eurovision, Intervision emphasizes "traditional family values" and is broadcast on Russian television and online.
The U.S. will also be represented, by Australian-born singer Vassy.
