India's Defence Council to Approve Rs 81,000 Cr Deals
The Indian government is planning to spend a lot of money, about 81,000 crore rupees, to buy new military equipment.
They want to buy vehicles that can recover damaged tanks and other vehicles on the battlefield, called ARVs.
They also want to buy ships called minesweepers to clear underwater mines and missiles called QR-SAM to protect against attacks.
These decisions will be made by the Defence Acquisition Council, and this will help the army and navy get better equipment to protect the country.
The Defence Acquisition Council (DAC) is set to approve deals worth Rs 81,000 crore for military modernization.
Key acquisitions include armored recovery vehicles (ARVs), minesweepers, and Quick Reaction Surface to Air Missiles (QR-SAM).
The ARV deal, estimated at Rs 8,000 crore, aims to assist damaged vehicles on the battlefield.
The Navy will receive 12 minesweepers, a Rs 43,000 crore deal, with mine-laying and anti-submarine capabilities.
The QR-SAM, developed by DRDO, will cost Rs 30,000 crore and have a range of 3-30 km.
