NTA Seeks Government Colleges for NEET-UG 2027 Computer Testing
The NEET-UG medical entrance exam is planned to move from paper to computers in 2027.
The National Testing Agency wants to find enough places where students can take the computer-based exam.
It asked the All India Council for Technical Education to help locate suitable government institutions.
AICTE is asking approved government colleges about their working computers and other technology.
Colleges must also describe their internet, networks, backup electricity and security cameras.
They are being asked about empty or partly unused rooms as well.
The information must be accurate and checked by an authorised official.
AICTE plans to collect the details by September 15 and send them to NTA for assessment.
NTA asked AICTE to identify government institutions that could host computer-based NEET-UG testing centres from 2027.
AICTE is collecting information from approved government engineering colleges, polytechnics, university departments and other eligible institutions.
Requested details include functional computers, IT systems, networking, internet, power backup, CCTV and related facilities.
Institutions must also report vacant or underutilised spaces that could support dedicated Standard Testing Centres.
AICTE set September 15 as the submission deadline and will share verified information with NTA for further assessment.
