India Conducts AI-171 Crash Probe Within Country
After the Air India AI-171 plane crash, India is now investigating the crash all by itself.
The special black boxes that record what happened on the plane are being examined at a lab in New Delhi.
Experts from India, the U.S., and other groups are working together.
In the past, India had to send these black boxes to other countries to decode them, but now they can do it here thanks to better technology and resources.
This means investigations will be quicker, more open, and build more trust.
India's AAIB is investigating the Air India AI-171 crash entirely within the country.
Data from the black boxes has been successfully downloaded at the AAIB Lab in New Delhi.
The investigation team includes AAIB officials, technical members from the Indian Air Force, HAL, and NTSB.
India is following international rules and procedures as per ICAO standards.
Previously, black box decoding was often done in other countries due to limited domestic capabilities.
