Western Railway Exceeds ₹300 Crore in Scrap Sales
Western Railway is doing a great job of cleaning up and selling old, unused stuff.
They've already sold over 302 crore rupees worth of scrap metal and other old materials this year.
This is even better than they planned and it happened earlier than last year.
They are now part of a special group of railways that have sold so much scrap.
This helps them make money from things they don't need anymore and keeps their stations tidy.
Western Railway achieved over ₹302 crore in scrap sales as of October 29, 2025, for the financial year 2025-26.
This performance is nearly 21% higher than the proportionate target set by the Railway Board.
The railway zone has joined the '₹300 crore club' for scrap sales, a milestone previously achieved by South Central Railway.
This achievement was made two weeks ahead of the previous year's record date for crossing the ₹300 crore mark.
The success is attributed to the 'Mission Zero Scrap' initiative focused on eliminating scrap from railway establishments.
