Manipur Students Protest Use of Force on IDPs
In Manipur, students from a government school marched to the Raj Bhavan to protest against the use of force on internally displaced persons (IDPs) who were trying to go back to their homes.
The day before, there was a clash between IDPs and security forces, and the security forces used tear gas to stop the protesters.
The students said it was unfair to hold the Sangai Festival while many people are still living in relief camps without a chance to return home.
They also asked for strict action against the security personnel who used tear gas and for the IDPs to be resettled.
