MP, Chhattisgarh End Mutual Consent for DR Hikes
Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh have decided that they no longer need each other's permission to give extra money to retired people.
This extra money is called Dearness Relief (DR) and helps with the cost of living.
Before, one state had to wait for the other to agree before giving this extra money.
Now, they can do it faster and easier.
They will use special orders to make this change, and they will tell each other if it costs more money.
But they won't give more DR than what the central government says is okay.
This change started right away on Friday.
Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh have ended the mutual consent requirement for Dearness Relief (DR) hikes for pensioners.
The decision took effect immediately on Friday.
Pensioners in Madhya Pradesh no longer have to wait for Chhattisgarh's consent for DR increases.
Executive orders, not legislative amendments, will be used to implement DR revisions.
Neither state will announce a DR rate higher than that notified by the Central Government.
