Lloyds Metals Reduces Carbon Footprint with Slurry Pipeline
Lloyds Metals is helping the environment by using a special pipeline to transport iron ore.
This pipeline moves the iron ore as a liquid mixture called a slurry, which is much better for the environment than using trucks.
The new pipeline is the first of its kind in Maharashtra.
It cuts down on pollution and saves money.
By using this method, the company is reducing its carbon footprint by 55%, which means less pollution in the air.
The company has also planted over 300,000 trees to help the environment.
They are also working to use clean energy to power the pipeline to reduce emissions even further.
Lloyds Metals has launched an 87-kilometer slurry pipeline for iron ore transport.
The pipeline reduces the carbon footprint by 55% compared to road transport using coal power.
The pipeline will be the first in Maharashtra and the fourth operational iron ore slurry pipeline in India.
The project is expected to reduce freight costs.
LMEL has planted over 3 lakh trees under its ‘Mission Green’ initiative.
