Odisha CM urges SDCs to focus on tribal welfare
The Chief Minister of Odisha, Mohan Charan Majhi, spoke to the new leaders of the Special Development Councils (SDCs).
He told them to make sure that all the welfare programs help the tribal people, who make up a big part of the state's population.
He said they should work hard to improve the lives of tribal communities while also preserving their unique languages, arts, and cultures.
The Chief Minister also mentioned that the government has received a lot of money to help with these efforts.
He encouraged the SDC leaders to visit the communities often, understand their problems, and work together to solve them.
The goal is to make sure that development reaches everyone, even the people who are often left behind.
Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi addressed the newly appointed members of the 23 Special Development Councils (SDCs).
He emphasized the importance of preserving the heritage of Odisha’s 62 tribal communities while accelerating their socio-economic development.
Majhi urged the SDC members to ensure that welfare measures reach the last person in society, referring to this as 'Antyodaya'.
The Chief Minister assured the SDC functionaries that the government would take appropriate steps to resolve local issues raised by them.
He highlighted that Odisha has received Rs 18,371 crore under Article 275(1) of the Constitution for the development and welfare of tribal communities.
