India's MedTech Summit Calls for Evidence-Based, Affordable Access
The Indian Medical Parliamentarians’ Forum held a meeting about medical technology in India.
Lawmakers, government officials, doctors, researchers and companies took part.
They discussed how India can design and make more medical devices locally.
They also said devices must be tested to show that they are safe and useful.
Hospitals and healthcare workers need training to use new devices properly.
The group discussed how insurance and government payment systems can help patients receive these technologies.
Speakers said devices should be affordable and practical for different healthcare settings.
They also wanted better cooperation between doctors and engineers.
The main goal was to help more people, including those in rural areas, receive good medical care.
