Mumbai-Pune Expressway Upgrade and Skywalk Project Updates
The government is working on two big projects to make travel easier and more fun between Mumbai and Pune.
One is to widen the Mumbai-Pune Expressway into a superhighway with 10 lanes to help with traffic jams.
The other project involves building a skywalk, like a bridge in the sky, in Lonavala, with a cafe and adventure sports.
The Missing Link Project should be completed by December 2025, and the expressway expansion will hopefully provide smoother rides.
The skywalk is planned for completion by June 2027.
These projects will cost a lot of money but will make traveling in the area much better.
MSRDC plans to transform the Mumbai-Pune Expressway into a 10-lane superhighway.
The expressway upgrade is estimated to cost around Rs 14,260 crore, and is designed to reduce travel time.
The proposed glass skywalk in Lonavala is part of a larger Rs909.04-crore tourism project.
The Missing Link project on the expressway, expected to reduce travel time, is scheduled for completion by December 2025.
The Skywalk project includes a 5,000-square-meter rooftop cafe and a 1,000-seater amphitheater.
