IMD Forecasts Below-Normal September Rainfall for Andhra Pradesh

IMD Forecasts Below-Normal September Rainfall for Andhra Pradesh

Weather officials expect India to get less rain than usual in September.

Andhra Pradesh is also expected to receive below-normal rainfall.

The country already had 16% less rain than normal in August.

Less rain could create problems for farms and water supplies.

Five low-pressure systems formed north of the Bay of Bengal, but they did not bring much rain to Andhra Pradesh.

Future rain in the state may depend on new weather systems after the main monsoon.

The IMD also expects subdued rainfall in southern India in the short term.

Officials said strengthening El Niño conditions may be weakening the monsoon.
