Calcutta HC Orders SSC to File Fresh List of Tainted Candidates
The Calcutta High Court has told the West Bengal School Service Commission (SSC) to make a new list of 1,806 candidates who were found to have problems in their jobs.
These candidates were part of 25,753 people whose jobs were canceled by the Supreme Court last year.
The court wants the SSC to include all important details in the list so that these candidates can be easily identified.
This is to make sure that they don't join the new recruitment process for school jobs.
The court will check the progress on February 11, 2025.
The SSC is currently holding a new recruitment process called the second SLST, 2025, for jobs in government-run and aided schools in West Bengal.
The initial list did not include the category of taint, the school, or the district where the candidate was appointed.
Calcutta High Court directs SSC to file a fresh list of 1,806 tainted candidates with detailed information.
The list should include all relevant details for proper identification of the candidates, including the category of taint, school, and district of appointment.
The court noted that the previous list did not disclose the category for which the candidates were found to be tainted.
The Supreme Court had invalidated the appointments of 25,753 candidates in April 2024 due to irregularities in the recruitment process.
The SSC is currently conducting a fresh recruitment process through the second SLST, 2025, for jobs in West Bengal government-run and aided schools.
