Assam Opposition Accuses BJP of Voter List Manipulation
The opposition parties in Assam have filed a police report against the state's BJP president, Dilip Saikia.
They say he told his party workers to remove the names of people who didn't vote for the BJP from the voter list.
This happened during a video meeting on January 4.
The opposition wants the police to check the video and investigate.
They also want to make sure no one can change the voter list unfairly.
The BJP, however, says the opposition is trying to create trouble by supporting a group called 'Miya' for political reasons.
Meanwhile, the BJP and its allies plan to contest all three Rajya Sabha seats in Assam, with the Chief Minister confident about winning at least two of them.
Both sides are arguing about who is right and who is wrong.
Assam opposition parties filed an FIR against BJP leader Dilip Saikia for alleged voter list manipulation.
Allegations stem from a January 4 video conference where Saikia allegedly instructed workers to delete non-BJP voters' names.
Opposition demands investigation into the video and protection for election officers from political pressure.
BJP accuses opposition of promoting 'Miya identity' for political gains and creating confusion around voter revision.
