Blackbucks Poached in Chikkamagaluru Conservation Area
In a village near Chikkamagaluru, forest officials found three dead blackbucks with bullet wounds.
They think a group of poachers killed them to sell the meat.
The blackbucks were young, about 1.5 to 2 years old.
The poachers left the bodies behind, maybe because they were scared.
The officials are using dogs to find the poachers.
A wildlife expert wants the government to investigate and catch the poachers quickly.
This is the first time such poaching has happened outside the protected area where blackbucks live.
Three blackbucks were found dead with bullet wounds in Hirenallur, near Chikkamagaluru.
Forest officials suspect an organized poaching racket is responsible for the killings.
The blackbucks were two does and one buck, aged 1.5 to 2 years.
Investigations are ongoing, with sniffer dogs being used to track the poachers.
A wildlife activist has called for a high-level inquiry and swift action against the poachers.
