IIT Madras ex-director highlights workforce growth impact
A former director of IIT Madras, Prof. Bhaskar Ramamurthi, spoke to students at a university event.
He said that more young people are joining the workforce every year, which is good for the country's economy.
He explained that for the next 8 to 10 years, about 23 million youngsters will enter the workforce annually.
This means more people are working and earning money, which helps the country's GDP grow.
He also mentioned that fewer people are leaving the workforce because the population is not as large as it was eight years ago.
So, overall, more people are working, which leads to more production and economic growth.
Prof. Bhaskar Ramamurthi spoke at the 20th convocation of Dhirubhai Ambani University.
He noted that 23 million youngsters enter the workforce annually, a trend expected to continue for 8-10 years.
More people entering the workforce and fewer leaving contribute to increased production and GDP growth.
The population dynamics, with fewer people passing away annually, further support workforce growth.
Ramamurthi emphasized the positive economic impact of a growing workforce.
