Delhi High Court Upholds CM SHRI Admission Test 2025
The Delhi High Court has decided that the CM SHRI Schools Admission Test for the year 2025 is valid.
A student named Janmesh Sagar who failed the test had argued that the test was unfair and against the law.
He said that the test was like a screening process that is not allowed under the Right to Education Act.
The court disagreed and said the test is okay.
The test is for students who want to get into Classes 6, 7, and 8 in CM SHRI Schools.
The court also said that the test does not go against the right to education that is guaranteed by the Constitution.
The student had first gone to the Supreme Court, but they were told to go to the High Court instead.
The Delhi High Court upheld the validity of the CM SHRI Schools Admission Test 2025.
The court dismissed a petition filed by Master Janmesh Sagar, who was declared 'failed' in the test.
The petitioner argued that the test violated the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act, 2009, and infringed upon the fundamental right to education under Article 21-A of the Constitution.
The test is conducted by the Directorate of Education (DoE), Government of NCT of Delhi, for admission to Classes 6, 7, and 8.
The Supreme Court had earlier disposed of the petition, granting liberty to approach the High Court.
