Supreme Court to Hear Challenge to Delhi Protest Curbs

People have asked India’s Supreme Court to review restrictions planned before a protest in Delhi.

The protest is against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.

The court plans to hear the petitions at 2 pm on Friday.

Lawyers Kapil Sibal, Abhishek Singhvi and Prashant Bhushan told the judges that the whole city should not be shut down.

They pointed to 57 closed metro stations and cancelled trains entering Delhi.

The judges said they wanted to hear from all sides before making any orders.

The article does not say what the court ultimately decided.
