Mourners bid farewell to Indigenous girl whose death sparked riots

A five-year-old girl in Australia died in April.

In her Indigenous community, she was known as Kumanjayi Little Baby.

Her death made many people in her town very sad and very angry.

There were violent fights in the streets.

A man named Jefferson Lewis was arrested for hurting the girl.

Before the police got him, some people in the town found him and hit him.

On Saturday, hundreds of people went to a cemetery to say goodbye to the girl.

Many wore pink, because pink was her favorite color.

Her community is following special mourning traditions called 'sorry business.'

The leader of Australia, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, asked the government to make better homes and services for Indigenous people living in camps near the town.
