Delhi Sees Decline in Car Theft Cases During First Half of 2025
Imagine Delhi as a place where cars sometimes disappear.
From January to July of 2025, around 13 cars were stolen each day.
That adds up to about 2,468 cars stolen during that time.
The good news is, it's happening less than before!
Compared to last year, about 10% fewer cars were stolen.
The police are working hard to stop this by having more officers on patrol, especially at night, and by catching the bad guys who steal cars.
They are also using cameras and being smart about where they look for stolen cars.
Delhi recorded an average of 13 car thefts daily in the first half of 2025.
A total of 2,468 car theft cases were registered between January 1 and July 15, 2025.
The number of car theft cases decreased by nearly 10% compared to the same period in 2024.
Police attribute the decline to increased patrolling, plainclothes teams, and intelligence gathering.
Crackdowns on vehicle lifting syndicates and surveillance measures also played a role.
