iPhone 17 Leads Singles' Day Sales in China
During China's Singles' Day shopping festival, Apple's iPhone 17 was the most popular smartphone, making up 26% of all sales.
This helped overall smartphone sales grow by 3% compared to last year.
However, without Apple, sales actually dropped by 5%, showing that people are being careful with their money due to economic worries.
Huawei and Xiaomi saw their sales fall.
Even though the total sales for the festival were a record 1.70 trillion yuan, people didn't seem very excited about shopping.
Meanwhile, Apple's iPhone Air, which was expected to be a big hit, didn't sell well.
This led Apple to cut production and delay plans for a new version.
Other companies like Oppo, Vivo, and Xiaomi also decided not to launch their own slim phones because of the iPhone Air's poor performance.
