Mahakal's First Kartik Sawari Procession Takes Place in Ujjain
In Ujjain, India, a special parade called the 'Sawari' was held for Lord Mahakal.
This was the first one in the month of Kartik.
The parade started from the Mahakaleshwar Temple.
People gathered to watch as the deity, in the form of Shri Manmahesh, went on a tour.
The Mahakaleshwar Band, police, and armed forces participated.
The procession went through the city, including Ramghat Kshipra bank.
After the rituals, the parade returned to the temple.
More processions are planned throughout November, according to tradition.
The first sawari of Lord Mahakal took place in Ujjain during the month of Kartik.
The procession began at 4 PM after worship in the Sabhamandap.
Shri Mahakaleshwar, as Shri Manmahesh, toured the city.
The Mahakaleshwar Band participated for the first time.
Further sawaris are scheduled throughout November.
