ICC to Introduce New Playing Conditions in Cricket from June/July
The ICC, the group that runs cricket, is changing the rules.
Starting in June and July, they will use new rules for how the game is played.
In one-day matches, they will go back to using only one ball at a time for the end of the match.
If a player gets hurt and has to leave the game because of a head injury, the team will pick from five players who can come in as replacements.
In some special cases, a team could potentially replace a player even if the replacement isn't on the original list of five.
The ICC will implement new playing conditions for cricket, starting with Test matches in June and white-ball games in July.
ODIs will revert to a single ball rule after the 34th over, with the fielding team choosing one of two balls.
In reduced matches, each team will have only one new ball for their innings.
Concussion substitute rules will require teams to nominate five specific replacement players before the match.
Exceptional circumstances may allow for concussion replacements beyond the initial five, with existing protocols applying.
