Messi Executive Produces Disney’s Animated Series Messi and the Giants
Disney is making an animated fantasy show called Messi and the Giants.
Lionel Messi is helping make it as an executive producer for the first time.
The story is about a 12-year-old boy named Leo who gets stuck in a world ruled by giants.
He wants to get home and help bring peace to the kingdoms.
Leo does not have the special powers that others in that world have.
Instead, he uses football, teamwork and determination.
The show mixes football-inspired battles with magic and fantasy.
Disney plans to release it around the world on Disney+ next year, but has not announced the exact date.
Lionel Messi will serve as an executive producer for the first time on Disney’s animated sports fantasy series.
The series follows 12-year-old Leo, trapped in a giant-ruled alternate world called Iko, as he tries to restore peace and return home.
Leo uses football skills, teamwork and determination rather than supernatural powers to face challenges and battles inspired by football.
Disney showed the first look at San Diego Comic-Con Málaga on October 2; the series is set to premiere globally on Disney+ next year, with no exact date announced.
Argentine actor Milo Burgess-Webb voices Leo, while Argentine singer Luck Ra performs the series’ original song, “Vamos, Vamos, Vamos.”
