Jharkhand Bus Accident Death Toll Rises to 10
A bus carrying wedding guests from Balrampur district in Chhattisgarh to a wedding in Latehar district, Jharkhand, overturned on Sunday.
The accident happened in Orsa Bangladara valley, Mahuadanr, and resulted in 10 deaths (including 5 women) and over 80 injuries.
The bus was carrying around 90 passengers.
The injured were taken to local hospitals for treatment, with 32 serious cases referred to RIMS Ranchi.
The bus driver reported that the brakes failed, causing the accident.
Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren directed the Latehar deputy commissioner to provide appropriate medical facilities to the injured.
