Seafarers’ Union Says IRGC Attacked Indian-Crewed Ship in Hormuz

On April 22, an Indian-crewed cargo ship was confronted by several speedboats in the Strait of Hormuz.

The Forward Seamen's Union of India said the boats belonged to Iran's Revolutionary Guard.

Videos reportedly show the boats surrounding the ship and people hiding inside for safety.

A photograph appears to show someone holding a rocket-propelled grenade launcher.

The union said the launcher was aimed at the ship.

However, Firstpost said it could not independently verify the videos or photographs.

The article says ships have been attacked by different groups during the wider West Asia conflict.

India’s foreign ministry said at least 16 Indians, including 10 seafarers, died in such attacks between February and July.
