Supreme Court Grants Bail to Former Rajkot Town Planning Officer
A former government official named Mansukh Sagathiya, who used to work in town planning, was in jail because of a fire at a game zone that killed many people.
The Supreme Court has now let him out on bail, meaning he can go free while the court case continues.
The court considered how long he had already been in jail and that he had never been in trouble with the law before.
He was accused of not preventing unauthorized construction.
The court decided that the allegations against him did not justify keeping him in jail any longer, and the High Court's previous decision was reversed.
Several other officials involved in the case are also out on bail.
Former Town Planning Officer Mansukh Sagathiya was granted bail by the Supreme Court.
Sagathiya was arrested on May 30, 2024, following the TRP Game Zone fire.
The Supreme Court overturned the Gujarat High Court's decision denying bail.
