Andhra Pradesh Boosts Housing Scheme with Increased Unit Cost
Imagine the government is helping build houses for people who need them.
They're giving more money now, about 2.5 lakh rupees, to help build each house.
This extra money is for people in cities and towns.
The government is also helping with some extra money, like 39,000 rupees, for things like getting workers to help build and for making toilets.
The government is working with the central government to pay for all this.
The goal is to help families have better homes.
The Andhra Pradesh government increased the unit cost for house construction under PMAY-U 2.0.
The unit cost for Beneficiary-Led Individual House Construction (BLC) raised to Rs 2.5 lakh.
Beneficiaries will also receive financial support under MGNREGS.
