Marandi Demands CBI Probe into Liquor Scam
Babulal Marandi, a leader from the BJP party in Jharkhand, is asking for the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to look into a liquor scam in the state.
He believes that a senior government officer named Vinay Choubey is involved in this scam.
Marandi also thinks that the current investigation by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) is not fair and is trying to protect powerful people.
He mentioned that he had warned the Chief Minister about this scam earlier, but no action was taken.
Marandi wants the CBI to take over the investigation to ensure it is done properly and transparently.
Additionally, he is questioning the delay in implementing the Panchayats (Extension to Scheduled Areas) Act (PESA), alleging that it is linked to illegal sand mining in the state.
He claims that despite a ban by the Jharkhand High Court, sand mining is still happening, and the government is not taking action.
Babulal Marandi demands CBI probe into alleged liquor scam in Jharkhand.
Accuses senior IAS officer Vinay Choubey of involvement in the scam.
Claims ACB probe is a conspiracy to protect powerful individuals.
Marandi had warned Chief Minister Hemant Soren in 2022 about potential scam.
Choubey, former principal secretary to CM, is in judicial custody.
