Delhi's MCD Sees 20% Surge in Property Tax Collection
The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) collected a lot more property tax this year.
They collected over 2,000 crore rupees, which is 20% more than last year.
This happened because of a special plan called the Property Tax Amnesty Scheme 2025-26, also known as SUNIYO.
This plan encouraged people to pay their property taxes.
So, because of this plan, the MCD got a lot more money from taxes than they did the year before.
The MCD saw a 20% increase in property tax collection.
The total collection this year is Rs 2,024.75 crore.
The collection last year was Rs 1,687.57 crore during the same period.
The increase is attributed to the Property Tax Amnesty Scheme 2025-26 (SUNIYO).
The Delhi Mayor, Sardar Raja Iqbal Singh, confirmed the increased collection.
