62-Year-Old Delhi Techie Inspired by 'The Staircase' Allegedly Kills Wife
A 62-year-old man in Delhi is accused of hurting his wife very badly.
Police say he got a scary idea from a TV show about real crimes.
He hurt her while she was hanging clothes on the balcony.
He used a sword and then scissors during the attack.
After that, he packed his clothes and the sword in a bag, took a shower, and rode away on his scooter.
He took a lot of money with him, about twelve lakh rupees.
Police looked for him for three days.
They found him near a train station in another city.
Police think he was upset about a fight over a house and property.
Now he is in police custody and will have to answer for what happened.
A 62-year-old software consultant allegedly murdered his wife Komal Singh in East Delhi on 30 July.
Police say Kamal Singh learned a crime strategy—including destroying the murder weapon—from HBO's true-crime series The Staircase.
Komal was struck with a sword while drying clothes on the balcony, then dragged into the living room and stabbed repeatedly with scissors.
Singh fled on his scooter with approximately ₹12.75 lakh in cash and was arrested near Mathura Railway Station after a three-day manhunt.
