UP Teachers Face Salary Withholding for Solar Panel Installation
In Mau, Uttar Pradesh, the education department has told teachers to install solar panels at their homes.
The government has a plan called the Prime Minister’s Suryaghar/Solar Scheme to help people use solar energy.
The education officer, Santosh Kumar Upadhyay, said that teachers must show proof that they have installed solar panels.
If they don’t, their salaries might be stopped.
However, the officer later said that installing the panels is not mandatory and teachers can choose to do it voluntarily.
The department wants to make sure everyone follows the rules, but there is some confusion about whether salaries will really be stopped.
Teachers in Mau, Uttar Pradesh, are directed to install solar panels at their homes under the Prime Minister’s Suryaghar/Solar Scheme.
The Basic Education Department has threatened to withhold salaries of teachers who do not comply with the installation.
Teachers must provide a certificate confirming the installation of solar panels to receive their salaries.
The BSA office has clarified that the attendance for salary purposes will be locked only after the certificate is provided.
The BSA Santosh Kumar Upadhyay later stated that the installation is voluntary and not mandatory, contradicting the initial directive.
