Rajasthan Assembly Tables UCC Bill Amid Congress Protests

The Rajasthan government introduced a proposed Uniform Civil Code Bill in the state Assembly.

The Bill was tabled while Congress lawmakers were protesting.

Congress members said they were not being allowed to raise important public issues.

They also raised concerns about alleged restrictions at the Assembly gate and an alleged assault on CJP activists.

The Speaker did not allow the issues during Question Hour.

Congress MLAs shouted slogans and showed posters, while BJP lawmakers responded with their own slogans.

The Assembly was paused twice because of the disturbance.

After the Bill was introduced, Congress members walked out and boycotted the House.

The Bill will be debated and then put to a vote.
