Six-year-old construction worker's daughter found dead in Haryana pit

A six-year-old girl was found dead in a pit filled with water near a construction site.

The site was in Mohana village in Haryana’s Sonipat district.

Her parents work at the site and come from Madhya Pradesh.

The girl had been sleeping beside her mother in a small hut.

When her mother noticed she was missing, the family searched for her.

Police later found the girl’s body in the pit.

The family said her hands appeared to be tied.

Police detained a man found drunk near the area and are questioning him.

A post-mortem examination is expected to provide more information.
