BEE urges unified effort for Net Zero 2070
The Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) is asking everyone in India to work together to reach a big goal: zero carbon emissions by 2070.
This means using clean energy instead of dirty energy.
The Prime Minister set this goal at a big meeting called COP26.
The government is trying to make more green hydrogen and get lots of money for clean energy.
They want to have 500 GW of clean energy by 2030.
Right now, they have already made a lot of progress, with almost 60% of the goal achieved.
They also want to use electric cooking to help the environment and save money on importing LPG.
BEE calls for unified effort to achieve India's Net Zero carbon emissions target by 2070.
Government aims to scale up green hydrogen production and secure $10.1 trillion in renewable energy investments.
India targets 500 GW of installed electricity capacity from non-fossil fuel sources by 2030.
As of June 30, 2026, India's non-fossil fuel capacity is 297.37 GW, 59.5% of the 2030 target.
BEE emphasizes expanding clean energy capacity and promoting clean and energy-efficient cooking technologies.
