Pune Civic Body Approves Compensation After Boy’s Pothole Accident Death

A 10-year-old boy died after falling from his father’s two-wheeler on a road with potholes.

The Pune Municipal Corporation has decided to give his family Rs 6 lakh.

The city’s municipal commissioner confirmed the decision.

He said the decision was discussed with the mayor.

This is described as an unprecedented step for the PMC.

A city political leader said the transport body had previously paid compensation in bus accidents.

He said this may be the first time the PMC itself has offered such compensation.

The commissioner also said similar future cases may require compensation.
