Punjab CM meets power engineers amid unrest
There has been a lot of trouble in Punjab's power sector.
The engineers and workers have been upset and protesting since November 2025.
On Thursday, the leaders of the engineers' group met with the Chief Minister, Bhagwant Mann, to talk about their problems.
They discussed why two important engineers were punished.
One engineer, Harish Sharma, was suspended, and another, Harjeet Singh, was fired.
The punishments were because of some issues with the cost of fuel at the power plants.
This was the first time the engineers' group had a formal meeting with the Chief Minister since the AAP party came to power in 2022.
PSEBEA met with Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann to discuss grievances of power engineers and employees.
This was the first formal meeting between the association and the CM since AAP came to power in 2022.
Engineers and employees have been agitating since November 2025.
The suspension of Harish Sharma and termination of Harjeet Singh were discussed.
Disciplinary actions were taken due to allegations of unusually high fuel costs at state-run thermal plants.
