Assam Authorities Repatriate Bangladeshis and Rohingyas Amidst Border Security Efforts
Imagine a fence between two countries, India and Bangladesh.
Sometimes, people try to cross this fence without permission.
On a recent night, people in Assam, India, found some people who had crossed from Bangladesh.
These included 6 people from Bangladesh and 10 people called Rohingyas.
The authorities helped them go back across the border the same night.
They said this is to make sure the border is safe and only people who are allowed can cross.
The Chief Minister of Assam said it was a very neat and tidy job.
They are also watching the border very carefully all the time to stop anyone else from crossing without permission.
Assam authorities repatriated 6 Bangladeshis and 10 Rohingyas across the India-Bangladesh border on November 14.
The operation took place at Gate 39 around 12:30 am and was described as a night-time security effort.
The state government stated these actions are part of intensified efforts to curb illegal immigration.
Assam's Chief Minister praised the operation as 'clean and precise'.
