NDRF Raises Alert as Nepal Flood Wave Threatens Bihar, UP

A sudden rise in a river in Nepal may send a large amount of water into the Gandak River.

This could cause flooding near parts of Bihar and Uttar Pradesh in India.

The rise may be connected to a suspected Glacial Lake Outburst Flood.

The National Disaster Response Force is watching the rivers closely.

It has placed 20 rescue teams in the two Indian states.

Nine teams are in Bihar and 11 are in Uttar Pradesh.

Extra teams are ready in case the situation becomes worse.

Some rescuers may also be flown to Nepal if Nepal asks India for help.
